Mary Beth Hughes focuses her practice on general liability defense. Prior to joining Devine Timoney, Mary Beth was an associate with a regional civil litigation firm focused on professional liability and general liability defense.
Mary Beth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lehigh University. She also has a Master of Arts degree in Education from LaSalle University. She received her J.D. from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in 2010. Prior to earning her law degree, Mary Beth worked in social services at Carson Valley School and for Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health.
Mary Beth currently volunteers as a child advocate with the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project representing children in dependency and criminal proceedings. She has also volunteered teaching English as a Second language and GED classes to adults learners.
Mary Beth is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association. She chaired the Montgomery County Bar Association’s Insurance Committee from 2012-2015. She was selected to participate in the 2012-2013 Bar Leadership Institute through the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mary Beth is presently a co-chair of the Liberty and Law Civics Program, which provides civics lessons to local middle school students.
