Kara H. Dougherty, Esq.
Kara Dougherty focuses her practice on general liability and commercial litigation at Devine Timoney Law Group. Ms. Dougherty has more than twelve years of litigation experience. Prior to joining Devine Timoney, she was an attorney with a civil litigation firm, focusing on general liability defense matters including premises, construction, defamation and employment. She is uniquely qualified to handle appellate matters with experience in oral presentation to the Commonwealth Court and Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Dougherty graduated from the University of Vermont, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, an emphasis in behavioral/neuroscience, as well as a minor in statistics. While at the University of Vermont, she was awarded the John Dewey Award for outstanding scholastic and research achievement, the Helix Program Grant and was published in the UVM History Review. She earned her JD from Villanova University in 2007. While at Villanova, she served as an Extern for the Honorable Mary Pat Thynge (District of Delaware) while also working at a private firm.
Ms. Dougherty has volunteered as a child advocate with the Montgomery County Advocacy Project and is an active member of the Montgomery Bar Association. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Hillside Elementary PTO. Ms. Dougherty is a working mother of two children and resides in West Chester with her husband, a chef and restaurateur.
